ARE WHEEL LOCK KEYS UNIVERSAL?
Are Wheel Lock Keys Universal? The short answer is 'No'.
Each vehicle manufacturer installs different wheel locks to each vehicle model. They are not interchangeable between different brands, so, for instance, you can't use a Ford Wheel Lock Key on a Nissan and vice versa. This is to ensure that no one can steal the wheels/tyres. The ‘Wheel Lock Key' is the special tool required in order to remove the wheel locks. The individual ‘Wheel Lock Key’ is inserted into each of the wheel locks, which can then be turned and removed. Once your vehicle service work is complete, the ‘Wheel Lock Key’ is then used again to re-install and tighten the wheel locks back on the wheels.
WHAT DOES A 'WHEEL LOCK KEY' LOOK LIKE?
There are literally thousands of different wheel lock keys. They come in various styles, but look similar in exterior design. They're often made from Steel and Cylindrical in shape - most are approx. 4 cm long and 2 1/2 cm wide. One end of the key is hexagonal in shape (six-sided) and
is designed to fit into the wheel wrench; the other end is hollow with a patterned insert which is designed to engage/grip the security wheel nut for removal. The image shows the Wheel Lock Key on the left and the wheel lock on the right.

Step 1: Purchase your new Wheel Lock Key
Go to our 'Checkout/Shop Page' page to purchase your 'Wheel Lock Key'. If you have a 'Security Key Code' you can enter it there. If you don't have a 'Security Key Code' follow 'STEP’S 2 & 3 below
Step 2: Provide an image of one of your Security wheel nuts/bolts
Take an image of one of your Security Nuts/Bolts on the wheel with your mobile phone. Take the image close-up and face-on, so that we can see the Security Pattern clearly (example image on the 'FAQ PAGE'
Step 3: Provide proof that you are the ‘Keeper/or Owner of the vehicle
If you do NOT have a security key code; please take an image of your 'Proof of Keeper or Driver' Document and 'ID'. For a list of acceptable documents, please refer to the 'FAQ PAGE'
